One pyramid is always closed at any one time to limit the exposure to the damaging effects of thousands of visitors.
During our visit, it was the smallest of the three Pyramids of Giza, attributed to the fourth dynasty Egyptian Pharaoh Menkaure, son of Khafre. |

| Janice & I made our way around to the other side with the smaller “queens’ pyramids” effectively hiding from the constant predators that attack every tourist asking for tips, baksheesh or trying to sell worthless crap.
For a few moments, we were able to make these images in the blissful silence of the surrounding desert. |
